Day Ten
Breakfast
Poached Eggs on (not)
Toast
Put 150 ml (1 pint) of water in an egg poacher
with a pinch of salt and bring to the boil. Break 2
eggs into the poacher and simmer for three minutes
until the eggs are set. Toast 1 breakfast pancake
lightly on both sides, then spread thickly with
butter and yeast extract. Remove the eggs and place
on top of the pancake.
Follow with fruit
Lunch
Box of salad with 2 hard-boiled eggs.
Dinner
Asda Meals Made Easy 2 pork steaks with sage and
onion stuffing and gravy (210 g portion). Serve with
three vegetables of your choice. Discard as much
gravy as possible and use butter instead.
Dessert
Wine Custard
Beat 4 whole eggs and two yolks in a bowl. Heat
400 ml (1 pint) red wine and whisk it into the eggs.
Stir in 50 g (2 oz) sugar, ½ tsp each of cinnamon,
cloves and mace. Stir over a low heat until it
thickens. Pour into a serving dish and allow to cool.
Sprinkle very lightly with a pinch of ginger, nutmeg
and cinnamon. Serve with baked apples or with vanilla
ice-cream. Serves 4
